Go deep underground as Chad McCain tells us about the discovery and exploration of the Gegg Cave System. It’s the largest significant cave discovery in Missouri of the last decade. It’s also the 2nd longest cave in Ste. Genevieve County at just over 5 miles in length with three entrances discovered.
The survey started on January 13, 2015 and is still ongoing. McCain will tell us how this remarkable discovery is expanding our knowledge of Missouri’s geology, hydrology, and cave ecosystems while revealing secrets hidden for thousands of years.
