The “Great Tornado” of 1925 began in southeast Missouri and remains the deadliest tornado in U.S. history. Cutting a path through southern Illinois and southwest Indiana, it left 695 people dead and more than 2,000 injured. Through a compelling series of archival photographs, Wiegenstein shares stories of rescue, recovery, and the struggle to rebuild in the wake of unimaginable devastation.
