Tom Greminger, a member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, gave a very informative presentation at the Sainte Genevieve Museum Learning Center. As Missouri was a border state, he described the tensions that were present in Ste. Genevieve and surrounding areas during the Civil War. Greminger’s presentation was sponsored by the Dew Drop Inn and Kozy.
Greminger started with a surprising fact: Missouri had 1,162 military actions, the third highest number, after Virginia and Tennessee. He also highlighted the prominent local residents who played pivotal roles during the war.
Ste. Genevieve Cable Access Television recorded the presentation and it can be viewed here.
